Care Manager

Location: Edinburgh, Mid Lothian, EH8 9LD
Salary: £40 – £55k pa, DOE
Contract: Full time
Hours: 40 hours per week

As one of Edinburgh’s leading providers of home care, Social Care Alba delivers a wide range of care services which help people to stay in their own homes for longer. We are looking for a Care Manager to join our exciting, friendly and dynamic team.

Care Manager – The Role:

Responsibilities:

Managing all staff within the Care Department, ensuring effective staff:

• Learning & development
• Supervision & performance
• Mentorship & sharing of skills and knowledge
• Liaison with the Scottish Social Services Council
• Use of best practise and research throughout the company
• Planning with HR and Admin departments to support growth

Managing the delivery of support to all service users, ensuring effective and timeous:

• Delivery of direct care and support
• Handling of emergency on-call issues
• Liaison with the Care Inspectorate and EHSCP
• Assessments, plans, reviews and audits of support
• Reporting of Incidents, accidents, or complaints

Managing workflow across the Care Department, including:

• Participating in the on-call rota
• Managing risk, health and safety
• Updating electronic records including rotas
• Completing admin tasks on time, every time
• Leading, attending, and contributing to meetings
• Efficiently drive business growth and development
• Leading in the creation of the Annual Improvement Plan

This list is not exhaustive and from time to time you may be required to undertake additional duties. We will provide full training in line with regulatory requirements.

Care Manager – Candidate specification:

• Experience in a similar role
• Degree or equivalent in a Health or Social Care specialism
•  SVQ 4 or equivalent in Management and Leadership
• Good – Business management and growth
• Good – Risk management & health and Safety
• Good – Communication across different audiences
• Good – Ability to work independently with initiative
• Good – Time management, planning, and organising
• Excellent – l.T. skills and knowledge
• Excellent – People management and leadership
• Excellent – Understanding of all legislation related to the role
